#TBT: While reviewing our content for 2015 planning we uncovered a gem – the 2006 corporate video for Verdasys/Digital Guardian.
I think all of us in the security world would agree we’ve seen a tremendous amount of change in that past few years. The consumerization of IT; the emergence of cloud and mobile; the dissolution of the perimeter; cyber security getting regular mentions in presidential State of the Union Addresses; and much, much more. The one constant for security practitioners over that same period has been the absolute requirement to protect the data. Sensitive data was, is and will remain the target of every attack.
So it was kind of cool to look back at the Digital Guardian corporate video, circa 2006, and hear the founders of the company and some early DG customers talk about the data protection imperative. It's amazing that after nearly ten years we still see mega-breaches occurring on a regular basis. Clearly we still have work to do (I think we all know that). At 10 minutes, the video is way too long by today’s marketing standards but if you can spare the time, or peel yourself away from the #DeflateGate coverage, it’s worth a watch. Enjoy!
